5 places to see in Benidorm Old Town<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Even if you consider Benidorm to be just a tourist town, it has many places to discover that you can visit, in this post we propose 5 places to see in the Old Town of Benidorm<\/strong> so that you don’t miss any of them. Shall we start?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Mirador<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

1. The Torrej\u00f3 square and its history<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Situated on the Levante beach, we enter the Torrej\u00f3 square, where the old Benidorm Town Hall building was located, which was refurbished to be used for municipal purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Generalitat Valenciana legalised the building of the old Town Hall of El Torrej\u00f3 for reasons of public interest and today, ten years later, we find what is now Benidorm’s main tourist office<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thousands and thousands of tourists pass through this building on Levante beach every year. If you are lost or looking for a recommendation, don’t hesitate to visit this cosy office!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. A castle converted into the Mediterranean’s most famous viewpoint<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Strolling through Benidorm’s Old Town you can also enjoy wonderful views of the Mediterranean. Where? At the Castle viewpoint<\/a>.<\/strong> This point divides Benidorm’s two iconic beaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They call this place the balcony of the Mediterranean<\/strong>, would you like to find out why? Read on!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Qu\u00e9<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

This place was the scene of Berber battles<\/strong>. In fact, four cannons have been preserved in the Castle Square, which were used as a counterattack of that time<\/strong>, but it was in 1928 when the castle became the Mirador we know today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 1990s, it was decided to renovate this site and, as a result, archaeological remains of an ancient fortress were discovered. Among them were part of the walls and pieces of pottery from different periods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, they wanted to enhance the value of this heritage and work on the visibility of the archaeological remains. That’s why, if you visit this place, as well as contemplating all the blue panoramic views of the city of Benidorm, you’ll be able to walk over these ruins.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Church of San Jaime and its patron saint, the Virgin of the Suffrage<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"Casco<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Whether you’re Catholic or not, you can’t miss a visit to this temple. The Church of San Jaime, located in the upper part of Benidorm’s Old Town.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The church has a Mediterranean character due to its neoclassical style that stands out for its blue and white colours <\/strong>and, above all, for its blue dome, which is very reminiscent of the Church of Nuestra Se\u00f1ora del Consuelo in Altea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This church was built in the 18th century, after the discovery of the Virgin of the Suffrage in a boat adrift from the sea<\/strong>. When this representation was found, she became the patron saint of the city of Benidorm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a curiosity, every year they recreate the moment of its discovery on the Poniente beach, a moment of great sentimental and religious value for the natives of the town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you visit this church on your visit to Benidorm, you will be able to contemplate the virgin, who has a chapel inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Cala del Mal Pas, a charming spot!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Mal Pas cove is a hidden secret in the heart of Benidorm<\/strong>, do you wonder why? Its strategic location makes this beach a beautiful place protected by the Mirador del Castillo viewpoint and guarded by the Church of San Jaime, making it a beautiful spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This beach is about 120 metres long with fine sand and calm, transparent waters<\/strong>. In addition, in front of this beach you will be able to see the famous Benidorm Island, here you will find a submerged platform known as La Llosa. This is an important Marine Reserve with excellent seabed<\/strong>, a real treat for scuba diving lovers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, this small beach has everything you need: lifeguard post, footbaths, sunbeds, toilets and disabled access. Without a doubt, one of our favourite spots in Benidorm!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Strolling through the oldest and most charming streets<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

To end our tour of the Old Town in Benidorm, we suggest you take a stroll through the oldest and most charming streets of the famous city of Benidorm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of these streets are pedestrianised<\/strong>, so we invite you to walk along them while you browse through all the shops that make up these attractive little streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also sit on any of its terraces to enjoy some tapas or something sweet typical of the area, such as the ice creams made in Alicante.<\/strong> Don’t miss it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
