Have you heard about Benidorm’s ice rink? What? Didn’t you know about it?
An increasing number of people visit Benidorm during the Christmas holidays. The atmosphere, good weather and leisure options available make it the perfect city destination during the holiday period. Consequently, the number of activities available continues to rise. The ice rink we’ll be talking about in this post is just one of these but there are loads more. Read on!
What activities are organised in Benidorm at Christmas?
From Saturday 30th of November onwards, Benidorm’s Plaza de Navidad (“Christmas Square”) is open. This area, which is known as BeniNadal, will remain open until the end of the festive period, with a planned close date of the 6th of January 2020.
It was opened on the 30th of November at 6.30pm and, like every year, it can be found in the Plaza de SSMM los Reyes de España. Over the Christmas period, different activities will be hosted in the area, all of which are related in some way to Christmas.

Shows and workshops are organised in the Plaza de la Navidad as well as the Casa de la Navidad. The latter is located in the Hort de Colón Museum from the 6th of December.
The councillor for Festivities at Benidorm’s Local Government has said that the aim this year is to make all activities related to Christmas available at Hort de Colón Museum as well. That’s because this venue is associated with leisure options thanks to the organisation of workshops and shows during the summer months there.
Additionally, he said a lot of effort has gone into preparing the Casa de la Navidad, which will host the nativity scene prepared by the master Juan Moreno from the Asociación Amics del Betlem in Benidorm. It will also play host to more than 200 small nativity scenes that have been made available for this event.
Those responsible for coordinating all of these Christmas activities have said that everything prepared in the Plaza de la Navidad and the Casa de la Navidad is designed to be appropriate for all locals and visitors looking to enjoy this special time of year.
All of the activities scheduled during this period will be available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
What aspects of the ice rink in Benidorm stand out?
As is the case every year, the Plaza de la Navidad will feature different attractions, including bouncy castles and the ice rink we mentioned at the beginning of this post.
This year, Benidorm’s ice rink will be even bigger. This will ensure more people can enjoy it at the same time. In addition, skaters will have a larger area to skate on.

If you want to try Benidorm’s ice rink you’ll need to pay €7 to skate for 40 minutes. Remember that in order to enter the rink you must wear gloves. You should also wear warm clothing.
If you decide to go with all your friends or family, you can save a little money as for groups of 25 people or more the rate for 40 minutes is reduced to €5.
If you’re a fan of ice skating you’ll love spending time on the rink. If you’ve never tried ice skating before you’ll soon see it’s not that difficult and after a few laps you’ll be able to skate. What’s more, this is a physical activity suitable for almost everyone and it’s really fun!
During the busiest days in the Plaza de la Navidad you may need to wait a little before entering Benidorm’s ice rink but if you visit during quieter hours you probably won’t encounter any queues.
If you live in Benidorm or you’re visiting the city over Christmas make sure you check out the ice rink.

What other Christmas activities are organised in Benidorm?
In addition to those mentioned above, you can also enjoy dance shows, entertainment events and different types of workshops.
On the 6th of December the Christmas lights switch-on also took place. This coincided with the opening of the Casa de la Navidad. Furthermore, this year the artistic lighting that began last year in some Benidorm neighbourhoods has been continued.
Don’t forget that this is all in addition to certain special events, such as Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and the Three Kings Parade. All of the activities on these days are designed for all the family.
Benidorm’s ice rink is an attraction well worth a visit. Make sure you do as it’s only here for a few weeks.
