If you are wondering what to see in Benidorm and its surroundings, it is because you are planning to visit this town. To make it easy for you, we have prepared a selection of the places you can’t miss on your next holiday. In fact, the hard part will be choosing which one to see.

What to see in and around Benidorm?

It’s good to plan your holidays well in order to enjoy them to the full. So, if you’re wondering what to see in Benidorm and the surrounding area on your next holiday, here are the best options. Without a doubt, it is an area full of curiosities to discover.

Old Town

The old town of Benidorm is located in the centre of the town. It retains the essence of the fishing village it once was, with narrow cobbled streets, some white houses and many shops and terraces where you can have a drink.

Balcony of the Mediterranean

The Balcón del Mediterráneo is also known as the “Mirador del Castillo” and can be reached by climbing up a staircase from the Plaza del Castillo. It is one of the best known places in this town.

Blacón/ Mirador del Mediterráneo.

It is located on a rocky cliff, which serves as a natural separation between the Poniente and Levante beaches. If you want to enjoy the best views of the city, you can’t miss this perfect enclave.

Viewpoint of La Cruz

Another alternative to enjoy the best views of Benidorm is the Mirador de la Cruz. It is located in the Serra Gelada natural park and from there you can see the city, its beaches and its mountains. An essential route. It’s another place you can’t miss when you go to Benidorm.

The Cruz (Cross) that gives its name to this site was put up in 1961 by some Franciscan friars. They were alarmed by the new customs that were coming to the city thanks to tourism and it was a kind of symbol of forgiveness for sins.

Benidorm Beaches

If you go to Benidorm, not only can you not miss its spectacular beaches, but it will be one of the motivations to visit this city. You have the ones we have already mentioned, the Levante and Poniente beaches, but also some coves such as Mal Pas, Tío Ximo and Almadrava.

Markets in Benidorm

Benidorm is home to several flea markets and flea markets that are definitely worth a visit, these are the main ones:

  • Rincón de Loix street market. It is held on Wednesday and Sunday mornings and you can find the usual products of this type of place.
  • Foietes street market. It is similar to the previous one, but in this case it only operates on Wednesdays.
  • Benidorm Flea Market. It is open on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. You will find antiques and second-hand goods.
  • Les Nits del Castell flea market. Only open during the summer months in Benidorm Castle and has craft and painting stalls.

Theme parks

One of the reasons why many people visit Benidorm every year is to enjoy one of its theme parks, these are the main ones:

  • Aqualandia
  • Terra Mítica
  • Aqua Natura
  • Terra Natura
  • Mundomar

Gastronomy

The gastronomic offer in Benidorm is very extensive. Of course, it includes dishes based on the well-known Mediterranean diet, which are also prepared with local produce. Of course, you can’t miss the authentic Valencian paellas.

Gastronomía mediterránea.

In such a cosmopolitan environment as Benidorm you will find restaurants with specialities from an infinite number of countries. Without a doubt, even the most demanding diner will find their gastronomic expectations exceeded during their visit to Benidorm.

You can also enjoy a drink, some tapas or its famous cavas. It’s clear that you won’t get bored at lunchtime or aperitif time if you visit Benidorm.

Evening entertainment

Benidorm is well known all over the world for its wide range of nightlife. We can say without hesitation that it is the city that never sleeps, especially in summer.

The choice is so wide that it will be difficult to choose. There are discos where you can dance the night away, English-style pubs where you can have a drink or terraces where you can enjoy an ice cream.

We hope that very soon we will be able to enjoy again the amazing nightlife in Benidorm.

Surrounding towns

If Benidorm is full of charm, the surrounding towns and villages are not far behind. Once again, it will be difficult to choose the destinations to enjoy during your holidays. So that you don’t lack ideas, we give you these options:

  • Guadalest. It is a small medieval town with a castle and some museums that are worth a visit.
  • Altea. It is very close to Benidorm and is a municipality that still conserves all the charm of the fishing villages.
  • Calpe. This is another of the most charming towns in the area. Among many other things, you cannot miss the Peñón de Ifach.
  • Jávea. It is another coastal town with incredible beaches and a very interesting old town.

Now that you know what to see in and around Benidorm, all you need to do is decide where to start.
