1. Bodegas Enrique Mendoza
Just a few kilometres from Benidorm you will find the Enrique Mendoza winery. They are in the neighbouring Alfaz del Pi, at Camino del Romeral, 42. Here you can taste local wines at the El Chaconero estate. The Gold visit includes a complete tour of the experimental pruning field and visits to the final product room, the bottling room or the underground cellar. In the cellar there is a commented tasting that is paired with AOVE Barranco Tagarina. The price is 22 euros per adult.
2. Bodegas Bocopa
The Bocopa wineries offer a wide range of activities. The cheapest includes a tasting of three wines and a tapa for less than 10 euros. The most complete one costs 25 euros and includes a healthy workshop, a wine tasting and a tapas tasting. To any of the options you can add a menu in a local restaurant for 10 euros or for 15 euros at the weekend. You can visit it in Petrer, in Carrer Talladors.
3. Bodegas Francisco Gómez
These wineries are located in a unique enclave. In addition to the vineyards, there is an archaeological site with a lot of history; a fortification on the top of a hill of Islamic origin. The different tastings vary in price depending on the option chosen. For example, from 20 euros you can opt for a tasting of four wines and two extra virgin olive oils, all accompanied by delicious Iberian cured meats. Another of the routes, only possible when the number of participants exceeds 20 people, includes, for a price starting at 50 euros, a cocktail lunch paired with wines from the winery. They are in Villena, on the Villena to Pinoso road, km 8.8.
4. Bodegas y viñedos Volver
From Monday to Saturday, the Volver wineries and vineyards offer guided tours. The most basic tour includes a tour of the facilities and plantations, as well as a tasting of three wines accompanied by an aperitif for 18 euros. The minimum number of participants is four people. If you can make a group with more than 14 participants, you will have access to a more complete visit with a more complete wine pairing. The price is 25 euros per person. You will find them at Diseminado Pascualetes, 6, Alicante.
5. Bodega Las Virtudes
Las Virtudes offers guided tours from Monday to Saturday. Here you can get to know the winery and enjoy a tasting of three wines and two oils. But not only that, for the 15 euros it costs, you can also taste cold meats from Villena accompanied by wood-fired bread and traditional pastries. Anything else? Yes, the chance to taste the legendary Fondillón, one of the most expensive and richest wines in the world. They are located at Carretera de Villena a Yecla, 27.
