We are living through some very complicated days, a situation we never thought would happen to us. But the truth is that it’s happening and it’s affecting us on many levels, and it’s not just affecting our country, it’s affecting everyone.
Therefore, it is very important to follow all the indications and recommendations given to us to put an end to the coronavirus as soon as possible. Now more than ever we have to be strong and united, and stay at home #IStayHome.
We have all complained at some point in our lives that we don’t have time to rest, to take up activities and hobbies we like, to do some exercise, to read or simply to watch that series we have been told so much about. Now is the time to do all those things and stop thinking about what we can’t do. We have to be positive and be aware that this situation is temporary and that very soon we will be able to go out and hug each other as before. Like in fairy tales, ours will have a happy ending.
What does the Don Pancho’s team do?
All of us at the Don Pancho team have created a list of 5 ideas to do at home during the coronavirus quarantine. These activities are the ones that we ourselves are putting into practice in our homes, would you like to know them? Keep reading and we will tell you all about them in this post.
Activities during coronavirus quarantine
1. Dance classes and exercise routines
The fact is that on the Internet we can find numerous free choices for dancing, from zumba classes, to ballroom dancing, jazz, modern dance, etc. You only have to choose your style and start step by step. Also, remember that you are at home and nobody is watching you, so forget about the embarrassment and start dancing. A little exercise is good for all of us and more so if you also have fun and laugh while practicing it, so you have no excuse.
In the team we have a couple of colleagues who are already at it and they tell us it’s a way to forget about everything that’s going on and enjoy the time at home.
Many of us are following the gymvirtual routines, if you wnat to give it a try, here is the link.
We are sure that after these weeks of practice you will become an expert and be in shape for the summer.
2. Enjoy reading
One of the most important things we can invest our time in is reading. Now we have time to retake the love for it and feel again the magic of a book that catches us, makes us forget about the hours and days at home.
There is an initiative in the social networks #KeepReadingEnCasa, in which authors and publishers upload their books online totally free, making the quarantine more bearable. We have already started to work on it and we recommend “The Da Vinci Code” by Dan Brown or “The Men Who Didn’t Love Women” by Stieg Larsson.
3. Learning Languages
Why not take advantage of the time available to learn languages? Some of our colleagues are working hard to improve their English. So can you, and we encourage you to do so.
One of the best known and most widely used applications is Duolingo. It has more than a dozen languages and is organized by level so that you can choose the one that best suits you. Besides, you only need half an hour a day. What do you think about learning some Spanish for your upcoming trip to us?
And, of course, we have other options like Youtube, which has thousands of channels where you can practice and listen to the language. Take a look at it and you’ll surely be encouraged.
You know, all you need is a computer, an Internet connection and a little bit of willpower. So, go ahead!
4. Learn to cook
There are many Youtube cooking channels with different recipes that you can practice these days to surprise your family. We in Spain, are following Adoni Aduriz, the owner of the two-star Michelin restaurant M,ugaritz, who is sharing some of his recipes on his social networks.
And why not practice patisserie? We have several girls on the team who love to bake cakes and desserts and who tell us they are practicing a lot these days.
5. Listen to music
Music is not just a set of musical notes, it is much more. The songs contain stories in which we can identify and feel. We each have our own songs, those that bring us positivity and help us smile. This is a good time to listen to them and escape from the current situation and stress.
We are fan of Spotify and have created a list for you to keep listening to Don Pancho’s music now that you are at home. It’s a way to share these difficult moments together. In the end we want to be always with you and share your happiness during the holidays, but also the not so good ones. Take a look at our list in this link.
There’s no excuse, close your eyes, turn up the volume, sing, jump, dance… and enjoy the moment. We’re with you!
What about you? What are you doing with your free time at home?
These are some of the ideas we have been gathering from our colleagues who, although they are at home working, continue to work for and with you.
And what are you doing with your free time these days? Share it with us, we’d love to hear from you!
Please take care of yourself and don’t forget to smile. We’ll see each other again soon. Until then, #IStayHome #StaySafe #AllUnited

Many thanks for the Don Pancho updates they are always very welcome, we were last at the hotel on February, we left on the 6th March and since then we have basically been in self isolation and neither of us have been inside any shop, our family basically do all our shopping and when they visit they sit on our front wall and we stand at the door, easily two metres apart.
Our gardens have never looked better, they have been redesigned, by my wife and we also been getting a good walk in each day.
We have have several weeks of excellent holiday weather and today is gorgeous once more.
For the last few years in our February visits we met a couple of brothers from Sheffield one is a hundred in July this year and the younger brother was also in his nineties, we cannot remember their names but if anyone posting on here any information would be gratefully received.
We are due back to Don Pancho in February 2021 for another holiday.
